Mr. Berry was spot on in identifying the fraudulence of our economic illusions and our need to imagine a better economy years ago. In 1972 he wrote an amazing essay titled "Discipline and Hope" which I highly recommend.

Amen to this man's insight! Right now it is virtually impossible for a young man to purchase or own a farm. Banks don't offer farm mortgages or farm operating loans to small farms. The USDA will help in limited cases with strict conditions that most can't qualify for. It's as if there is a big business and banker scheme to force every family farm off the land. Government offers very little help! Its as if you are a nuisance if your a small family farm!
