Perhaps the funniest looking Thanksgiving side dish ever

What is this Thanksgiving side dish?
1. Grandma's Jello chiffon salad
2. Homemade gelatto (Italian Ice)
3. Homemade Neopolitan ice cream
4. Mashed potatoes

Well, if you guessed mashed potatoes you got it right. We planted a bunch of funky varieties of potatoes this year and decided to have some fun with the pink/red, purple and white fleshed spuds. No food coloring needed. And they tasted yummy in case you were wondering.

We grew them in our garden. We get the seed potatoes at Northwest Seed and pet every spring and get the funkiest varieties we can find. Local wisdom has it that you should plant potatoes on Good Friday.
