What is the best type of wood for the garden boxes? When I was young our family made the gardens out of recycled railroad ties. Article from last year's Time Mag http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1816764,00.html

The Gregson's who have over 20 years experience recommend just using regular 2x6 or 2x8's which are probably made from fir. If you cover the inside, top and bottom with plastic they say that it last just about as long as treated wood.
